The ‘THE ROYAL HOUSE’ Project was born as a requirement to show in a subjective way, and through photography, social inequalities rise in all its economic, cultural, mental aspects. There has been a lack of control in political institutions, making the ones in charge from it become weak in the face of power temptation and, as a consequence, making them servants of the elites, to the detriment of the citizen. Economic / political power causes the rise of the distance between the citizens, thus the rise of social tensions. Economic inequality grows rapidly in most countries. The works that compose this project are photographs of objects found in abandoned shanty towns. Paco Puentes. LLANURAS PARA CINCO VÉRTICES is an installation made with the remains of a collapsed house near by my studio. Earth fragments, tiles and stones to which I have added a large photograph of a clock belonging to my maternal grandfather, neighbour of that house during his youth. The inexorable passage of time, carelessness and the oblivion. The absolute oblivion of those who preceded us. An obsolete and dead time.
