AUTOBIOGRAPHY FOR THE PRESENT CONTINUOUS

AUTOBIOGRAPHY FOR THE PRESENT CONTINUOUS

50 luminous spheres which turn on and off gradually every eight seconds. It is the result of the average number of hospitalizations due to COVID in Andalusia, Spain and Europe during the first few pandemic months. As times goes by, in a near term future, these seconds will decrease in order to reach total enlightenment.

Photographic panel with 122 images related to the pandemic and to healthcare professionals, introduced into picture frames related Braille’s alphabet, where we can read the following “Remember Him, Remember Him to Others” by Luis Cernuda.

Hospital Universitario Reina Sofía from Cordova/ April o21- Present Day.

A journey-like TRAVELL, like an itinerary, a participle.

It is a rectilinear erosion forced into a wall. The fear to Oblivion, the self-destruction and a tragic historical path. Memory, its identity and its lost, both forced and unintentional; it is a journey which starts without us knowing if it is ever going to end, a light and its opposite, that is to say, a corroding cut, a blinding object. Absences, divisions and luminous borderlands represented by lines. A fragment. Always fragments. A life-line, a dissolution, a unique colour. A resistance. Autobiography for the Present Continuous. A close Spinal Column and, at the same time, obstinacy in its ending’s search. Straight roots. Vertical and strengthened roots. The emerged tip of immense solitude. Reminding us constantly our fragility as individual beings.
